I'm sure there's MANY things each of us have experienced/seen/owned, whatever, that we have forgotten, or it hasn't come up, or maybe we just assume others know about it. I'm kind of surprised actually that others don't know of these. **** , I'd never heard of a Nalcom before I got on Brantley's board. I simply hadn't thought about it.

There have been SEVERAL discussions about Super-8 cameras and what cameras have the best registration.

These discussions have been ongoing for the last 2 or 3 years. I only came across the camera I now own in the last 3 months.

Since it appears you already know who, what, where, why haven't YOU ever volunteered any information that YOU had well before I got the camera?

You, Mr. Alex, were very polite and gave very good reasons to hold off temporarily like a good reporter with a good story should until he's got something to present like a complete story. Also you let the other parties involved feel comfortable.

Personally, I don't care if anyone ever gets banned from anywhere. I never said I agreed with it then, thought you should be banned, or still do think you should be banned. I just like to see people acting in a mature, resposible manner and being considerate to others (which I think we can all agree, Syracuse WASN'T being in that thread.)
I still maintain maintain my real point in that post, though. It seems like EVERY thread in this forum that gets going anywhere gets hijacked into some diatribe about your banning. It's your forum, do what you will.
In this thread I was simply trying to find out why you found it so important to keep this info to yourself. I was trying to sort out the logic, but I see again that it all comes back to getting banned from Brantley's forum. I don't know why I think I can come to this board without getting drawn into some firefight. I think I've been pretty benign in this thread, and yet I get accused of making self-serving statements, and STILL get no explanation of what you mean by that. What do you have against me? I'm trying to play nice, here, and I've tried to point out the times I've thought my post could be misconstrued, just to avoid those situations.
I've tried and tried, but any time I disagree with you, or even ask you a simple question, you either delete my post, ban me for a week without telling me (I think it was because I own a Workprinter?) or send some mysterious stranger to attack me. I just don't get it.
Alex, you won't find ANYBODY more neutral in the land of Super8 than I am. Perhaps many that are as neatural and/or open minded, but none moreso. I don't understand why you have to make most people your enemy if you don't agree at every little turn.
Man, I just can't come to this forum without feeling attacked.

ALL I SAID was that I don't understand why you would withold information from your readers. Then I said what a shame it would be if you were rendered unable to share this info, and I used the car accident as an example.
I'm sorry if you feel I've been unreasonable. I'll stand by what I've said. If you (or any of the regular readers of your forum) would like me to not participate in your forums any longer, please just ask. There's no need for a banning. I'm more than willing to vacate anyplace that I'm not welcome.

I would still like to see an explanation of why you think my statements are self-serving. I do think I deserve at least this much.

Paradise Lost, it's interesting that you used the word "reporter". In a sense, I have been a reporter when it came to tracking these cameras. I found a copy of a letter dated from 1990 that I had written to the individual who recently sold me the pin registered camera. THIRTEEN YEARS in the making to get this camera. The person probably didn't even remember the original letter I wrote to them, I DIDN'T remember writing the letter 13 years ago until I saw the copy I had kept.

Yes, I was on the prowl for a camera like this thirteen years ago, then I forgot about it until I found a spec sheet that I had saved about the pin registered camera three months ago.

A month later, I was able to purchase the camera.
I would have already ranked the film I shot but it was a short week last week because of Thanksgiving.

It's also going to cost me additional money because I will be rank transfering about 10-12 minutes of footage that was given to me that was also shot with a pin registered camera many years ago. I'm certainly not going to charge the person who gave me the footage, and I'm certainly not going to ask for a freebie from the rank transfer house either.

To pay for this time, I have to work. Which is what I'll be doing for the next few hours. If it costs me money to move forward in regards to the pin registered camera, criticizing me when I never
made the original topic post about the camera seems a bit unfair.

And I find it odd that people like Brantley have chosen to permanently ban someone who has been a Super-8 advocate for the last 20 years.

I don't want to be held to a higher standard than Brantley or Andreas. By making demands of me as you have, you have elevated me to a higher standard while simultaneously relegating me to being the guy with his own forum who...bla, bla, bla...

You keep ignoring the fact that I never started any pin registered topic post on this forum. I have replied to questions, and I have not rushed into anything that is going to cost me additional money right now.

I spent NINE-HUNDRED DOLLARS ON A 28 VOLT BATTERY
to run my camera, I'm not spending anymore until
I can afford to.

Posting pictures right now, will cost me money because I will be prioritizing it over SEVERAL other ongoing projects and deadlines I have to contend with, meaning checks will arrive later rather than sooner.

If it's of any consequence, I do appreciate your patronage. Too bad so few do patronize this forum with posts.
